Current Issues:
Bighorn Provincial Wildland Park
The Red Deer & District Chapter of SCI is calling for open, clear and concise dialogue on the land use proposals and policies being brought forward by Alberta Environment and Parks. We are proposing a series of workshops together with government which include Alberta stakeholder groups who are directly impacted by these policies to provide meaningful input to draft proposals before implementation. We are calling for an opportunity to explore the science, provide solutions to areas of concern and to ensure that access remains for all Albertans. We desire to have a meaningful discussion and negotiation on the risks, mitigation and solutions based on how these new policies will affect Albertan’s, our economy, our communities, our enjoyment of our public lands and our rights on private land. It is our position that any land use policies need to be developed by Albertans for Albertans.
If you would like to add your voice to the growing number of Albertans concerned about this issues, please print off the form below, fill out and email back to us. We will be happy to ensure your objection to this proposal is heard.
